What is Librium and how is it used?
Librium is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of Anxiety. Librium may be used alone or with other medications.
it belongs to a class of drugs called Antianxiety Agents; Anxiolytics, Benzodiazepines.
It is not known if it is safe and effective in children younger than 6 years of age.
What are the possible side effects of Librium?
It may cause serious side effects including:
- severe drowsiness,
- unusual changes in mood or behavior,
- confusion,
- aggression,
- anger,
- sudden restless feeling or excitement,
- worsened sleep problems,
- thoughts of suicide,
- sudden weakness or ill feeling,
- fever,
- chills,
- sore throat,
- mouth sores,
- red or swollen gums,
- trouble swallowing,
- muscle weakness,
- drooping eyelids,
- trouble swallowing,
- upper stomach pain,
- dark urine, and
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
Get medical help right away, if you have any of the symptoms listed above.
The most common side effects of Librium include:
- drowsiness,
- confusion, and
- loss of balance or coordination
Tell the doctor if you have any side effect that bothers you or that does not go away.
